How To Find Your Mojo & Make 2021 Your Best Year

If 2020 felt like an emotional and mental rollercoaster for you, you are most definitely not alone. With everything that is going on with the world, it might seem impossible or even redundant to set goals for the year ahead.

After all, why bother when you’re just stuck at home?

Well we’d like to think otherwise – being home all day can actually help you get your mojo back faster with just a few tiny tweaks.

So whether you are looking to get fitter, practise more mindfulness or learn something new, here are a few actionable steps you can take to make 2021 your best year!

Start With Your Mindset

While this might sound cliche, shifting your mindset from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset may help you live happier, fuller lives.

For example, instead of fearing change, having an abundance mindset allows you to embrace these changes and adapt easily no matter the circumstances.

People with an abundance mindset also take a proactive stance on life. So instead of waiting for things to happen for your personal life or career, make 2021 your year by planning and creating realistic strategies that will drastically impact your life.

Imagine what you can accomplish just by shifting your mindset!

Reflect On The Past Year

Many of us may have felt emotionally and mentally depleted as the pandemic dragged on in 2020, but if you’re reading this, good news! You’ve soldiered on and made it through one of the hardest years in history.

It’s perfectly OK to have gone off the rails in 2020, that’s the beauty of a new year. Think of 2021 as a hard reset.

For a start, try reflecting on how you tackled the adversities in 2020. Were you adaptive? Did you find yourself losing sight of your purpose? Or were you simply trudging through the year and “passing time”?

Be honest with yourself and start by identifying your strongest and weakest points. If you found yourself constantly lethargic, perhaps a little adjustment to your sleep pattern is needed. If you’re feeling stressed, it could be a sign that you are overworked and in need of more social connection.

Set Boundaries To Separate Work & Life

If your days are filled with endless Zoom calls or perhaps you simply get carried away with that long report without taking regular breaks, it’s time to kick that bad habit!

Did you know that taking breaks during the day can actually boost productivity?

So instead of working round the clock, try creating a schedule that’s planned around your working hours and fill it with the little things you love, whether it is taking a walk, meditating, squeezing in a HIIT workout or just to lounge and read.

Your body, mind (and boss) will definitely thank you for it!

Get Social With Virtual Meetups

We all know that working from home is no walk in the park, and while it might feel a little daunting on some days when you just feel disconnected from your friends and loved ones, why not get social with virtual parties?

Lucky for you, there are plenty of ways you can have some fun with your friends online: Try fun apps like Houseparty, simple dinner dates or even host an insightful Powerpoint party (yes, they exist).

If your friends are busy, there are thousands of online courses, webinars or free experiences where you can meet new people, exchange ideas and even learn something new!

Get Creative With Fitness

Do you live too far from the gym? Is your favourite group boxing class temporarily closed due to COVID-19? Don’t let that discourage you!

Even if you are working from home, there are plenty of ways you can integrate fitness into your daily routine. Whether it is a simple bodyweight workout or a step-by-step yoga class on YouTube, you can expose yourself to plenty of workouts to mix things up and have fun!
